Owens Field Park Cleanup

Rosewood Elementary School is hosting a 5K run around Owens Field Park and through Rosewood on April 13. Let’s make sure the neighborhood is sparkling clean!

Please join us the weekend before the race, to clean up the roads around the park. We’ll meet at the skate park at Owens Field Park at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6. Bring gloves if you have them.

Rosewood Elementary 5K

rosewood elem logoDust off those running shoes, neighbors! Rosewood Elementary is sponsoring its third annual 5K run on Saturday, April 13, to benefit the school’s PTO. In addition to the 5K, the Rosewood Eagles will host a one mile fun run for kids (and us big kids who can’t run the full 5K) and a new mascot challenge. All events begin in the Memorial Stadium parking lot on Holly Street.

Montessori School Open House

The Montessori School of Columbia recently expanded their operations in Rosewood. The school renovated two homes on Oceola Street, giving them room to move the preschool to the neighborhood. They have invited Rosewood residents to an open house on Thursday, November 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please join us to see the renovations and meet the faculty!

Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival Volunteers

The 3rd Annual Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival is looking for volunteers July 15 at City Roots!

Slow Food Columbia & Sustainable Midlands are looking for a few good volunteers for the Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival for 3 hours or more on July 15th. Hang out with great folks, enjoy the outdoors, and make a difference to these organizations AND your neighborhood! All volunteers will receive free admission into the event.

This festival is a family-friendly, midsummer’s evening event with a free heirloom tomato tasting, live music, high quality food + drink vendors, tomato bobbing, a tomato potluck, a homegrown tomato contest, and old time festival fun at City Roots urban farm in Columbia, SC. Celebrate local, sustainable food and the TOMATO, champion of the home garden!
