Rosewood Elementary Public Meeting

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is holding a public meeting on Thursday, January 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rosewood Elementary auditorium to share plans for infrastructure changes around the school as part of a Safe Routes to School grant. The current plan will add a sidewalk on one side of S. Walker St. between Heyward St. and Harvard Ave.

The infrastructure plans will be available at the meeting for the public to peruse and representatives from DOT will attend the meeting to answer questions and take written comments.

A committee of volunteers and parents from the school had requested traffic calming devices on Rosewood Drive, and those ideas may be revisited. The current proposed plan prioritizes a sidewalk on S. Walker St. We have been told the sidewalk path has been designed to save many large trees. Some trees will have to be removed.

RCC is attempting to get a copy of the plans to post here. Check back for updates.
